Our basement is finally finished after 41/2 months!! Needless to say it was an extremely frustrating experience however I have brand new carpet, freshly painted walls, a new bathroom (with a shower!), and a new mantel/hearth. I guess it was worth the wait.

Jena's "purple paradise" I didn't know if I could go for an all purple room but i gave in and realized it's just paint. I'm still trying to get used to it but Jena's loves it!

When the builders finished, the sheat (sp?) rock didn't go all the way to the fireplace (which was how it was previously built. So because of their mistake (amongst many others that I won't mention) they built me this new mantel. Much more than what we had before. You can see what we had to the rt. side of the fireplace. The people that built the house put just a little shelf over it. So that the builders messed up turned out to be very beneficial for me.
